MTN mAcademy is an educational website targeted at secondary school students, teachers, young professionals and anyone in need of self-improvement generally. This service has an array of over 150 courses for these categories of customers with each course at N100 weekly.

 

To access the site, customers can send Academy to 131 to access the site from the link that will be sent to them or log on to www.mtnmacademy.com.

 

A dedicated data bundle is available for accessing the site so it does  not eat into their general data bundle, this comes at N100 and can be purchased by sending MA to 131.

 

The content is endorsed by several bodies including JAMB, WAEC, Open University UK amongst others.

MTN POST PAID PLAN


  1. If you are a prepaid customer or a new customer interested in the postpaid plan, you can visit any MTN service centers nearest to you to subscribe for the postpaid plan.

 

  1. Before you can join the postpaid plan, you will be required to undergo the following steps:

a.       Complete a Subscriber Agreement and Bank Confirmation forms

    1. Submit 2 recent passport photographs
    2. Submit a copy of your ID (National Identity card, driver’s license or international passport)
    3. Submit a recent copy of your utility bill (PHCN, water rate, tenement)
    4. Submit your bank statement (six months from current month)

 

  1. After submitting the highlighted documents above, you will undergo a credit rating to determine the appropriate credit limit to be assigned to your account.

 

  1. The credit rating takes about 72 hours. During this time, you will be able to recharge your postpaid line and use all MTN products and services.

 

  1. As soon as your credit rating is completed, MTN credit team will assign a credit limit to your account and then inform you.

What is MTN Biz Class


MTN Biz Class is a prepaid service class,that provides customers with a combination of Business Headline News and lower call rates for on-net and off-net GSM Voice, Data and SMS targeted primarily at SMEs.

How to Migrate
To enjoy the service, MTN subscribers simply need to migrate to the Biz Class service class by dialing *460*3# or text 433 to 131.
Non-MTN subscribers just need to buy a new MTN SIM card and migrate to the Biz Class service class by dialing *460*3# or text 433 to 131.


In addition to the business friendly tariff, Customers will be able to activate other bundles that suit their needs.

Will I be charged for dialing *460*3# to migrate to the service? No. You will not be charged to apply for dialing this USSD code. Once migration is completed you shall only be charged N100 if you migrate to another service class within 30 days of migration to Biz Class.

How do I purchase an MTN SME Data Share bundle?

To purchase an MTN SME Data Share bundle, all you need to do is:

·         Send 460 to 131 or dial *460# to migrate to the SME Plus Service Class

·         You must ensure your airtime balance (on the mobile phone doing the sharing) can cater for the cost of data bundle being purchased.

·         Pay for a data share bundle by sending the keyword that corresponds to the plan you wish to purchase (as in table above).

How does the customer recharge his account?
Three days before subscription expiration, customer will be sent an SMS every day advising for payment to be made.

Payment is made by:

·         Recharge Card

·         VTU

·         Cheque

Once the airtime is credited, the payment will be automatically deducted from the phone’s airtime and validity of the subscription will be extended accordingly.

How can I recharge large sums on my mobile airtime to pay for the MTN SME Data Share Service?
You can use Quickteller by visiting 
www.quickteller.com. Quickteller enables you to recharge your mobile airtime using your ATM card. To recharge large sums of money online at Quickteller, please follow the steps below first:

·         Go to the nearest ATM, and insert your ATM card

·         Select the ‘Quickteller’ option from the ATM menu screen

·         Select ‘Pay Bills’

·         Select ‘Others’

·         Enter ‘322222” as the Payment Code

·         Enter your phone number as the Customer Reference Number

Yes, you can purchase any additional data share bundle plan multiple times within the month of existing subscription whether or not the data is exhausted. Data will be accumulated and expiry date will assume latest date of purchase.

Is there a limit to the number of beneficiaries that I can share data with?
No, there is no limit as long as the sponsor has enough data to share.

Is there a limit to the number of times I can share data with a beneficiary?
Sponsor can share data with beneficiary multiple times. Data shall be accumulated and expiry date will reflect latest data share.

How do I share data with a beneficiary?
You can share data with any beneficiary by sending SMS below to 131 (or dial *461# and follow the prompt):

Can I share data sizes multiple times to the same beneficiary?

Yes, especially when the data size which you wish to share is larger than 1GB. To share data of larger sizes than 2GB for instance, you will need to share 1GB twice.

For example, to share 2GB of data with beneficiary using phone number 08031234567 and MTN PIN ‘1234’, simply send SMESHARE 08031234567 1000 1234 twice to effectively share 2GB.

Does beneficiary’s phone number have to be an MTN phone number to enjoy the service?

Yes, the beneficiary’s phone number must be an MTN phone number on any service class.

How do I check my data balance?

You simply send DATABALANCE to 131 or dial *461# and follow the prompt

How do beneficiaries check their data balance?

The beneficiary checks own balance by sending SHAREBALANCE to 131 or dialing *461# and following the prompt.

Can I use my existing MTN PIN for the MTN SME Data Share service?

Yes.

 

 

MTN Data Share

You can now have a data plan and share it among multiple users.
For you to be able to share effectively:

•Dial *131*2*1# or text REG to 131; to register for MTN Data Share, you will receive a unique security PIN

•You are required to change the system generated PIN to a new PIN they can easily remember by dialing*131*2*5# or by texting Change OLD_PIN NEW_PIN NEW_PIN to 131. E.g. Change 0000 1234 1234 to 131. Where 0000 is old PIN and 1234 is your new PIN.

•After changing the PIN, you are required to add beneficiaries to your MTN shared Data Bundle account via USSD menu *131*2*2# or by texting Add to 131. You can add up to 5 beneficiaries.

•Once you have added beneficiaries, you (the sponsor) will be able to share your available data bundle among the added beneficiaries by sending the keyword Share to 131 or simply dial USSD code *131*2*3#.
