MTN XTRATIME
MTN XtraTime
is a service that allows eligible customers access airtime on credit when their
account balance is too low to have ordinarily continued with an on-going call.
MTN XtraTime
will not be available to all customers. It will be available ONLY to eligible
prepaid customers. MTN XtraTime will NOT be available to E-Postpaid and
Postpaid customers.
A customer
can check her/his eligibility by dialling *606# to access the Xtratime USSD
menu, then press 1 and Send/Reply
MTN XtraTime
will only be available to active prepaid MTNN customers.
Other
eligibility criteria include:
1. SIM must be registered
2. Customer’s recharge frequency
3. Customer’s number must have been
active on the network for at least 3 months
4. 4. Customer’s main account balance must be
between N0 and N12
When an
ineligible customer dials the USSD command to use the MTN XtraTime service,
s/he will receive an error message containing the appropriate reason for
her/his ineligibility:
“Y'ello.
You are currently ineligible to use this service. Please recharge a minimum of
N500 this month to enjoy Xtratime from next month. Thank you.”
“Y'ello. You are currently ineligible to
use this service. Please call 180 for more information. Thank you.”
Eligible
customers can request for Xtratime credit, by dialling the USSD code *606#,
then press 1 and send/Reply. The available amounts that can be borrowed will
then be displayed for customer to choose from. For example:
1. N50
Xtratime
2. N100
Xtratime
3. N150 Xtratime
For
successful transactions, the following notification is received.
“Y’ello! Your account has been credited
with NGNxxx.xx MTN XtraTime advance which will be deducted from your next
recharge. A service fee of 10% has been deducted for this transaction. Thank
you.”
Different
credit bands are available to different customers, depending on the customer’s
profile (tenure on network, recharge frequency, etc.). Available credit bands
include:

N50 Xtratime
2.
N100 Xtratime
3.
N200 Xtratime
4.
N400 Xtratime
5.
N500 Xtratime
6. N750
Xtratime
The Xtratime
credit is loaded into a special Xtratime account. To check the airtime in this
special account, dial *606#, then press 3 and send/reply.
The approved
Xtratime credit will be deducted from whatever balance is in the customer’s
main account (original balance must be less than N12), thereby setting the main
account to a negative value
A service
charge of 10% of the requested airtime is charged per request. The service
charge is first deducted from the airtime, and the balance is then loaded into
the customers Xtratime account.
For example,
if N100 Xtratime is requested for, a service fee of N10 is first deducted, and
the remaining N90 is credited to the customer’s special Xtratime account.
MTN
Xtratime credit can be used for all chargeable activities on the MTNN network,
including but not limited to:

Voice calls
2. SMS
3.
MMS
4.
Prepaid Data Bundles
5.
Premium rated services
6.
BlackBerry from MTN
7.
MTN Backup
8.
MTN Caller Tunez
9.
MTN Play
10. Other
current and future VAS services
